“Chöd practice is a reminder of impermanence, which is really important for us to hold as we walk through our lives.”
~ Karla Jackson-Brewer
Chöd is a powerful method to feed and not fight that which consumes us. In this, we weave a thread of resolution through global and personal challenges. Tara Mandala offers the Virtual Retreat of Chöd from Chögyal Namkhai Norbu on January 16 - 24 with Karla Jackson-Brewer, learning this ancient healing practice. You can register online through Tara Mandala's website.
Chöd means to “cut through.” It merges ancient Tibetan shamanic practices, with Mahayana Buddhism, which emphasizes cultivating compassion and an understanding of emptiness. We meditate on giving up what we cherish most, and offering victory, or love, to our challenges, bringing us and others deep peace and spaciousness. Chöd is practiced with a drum and bell and is sung, working with energy to enhance these qualities .Join Karla online over these two consecutive weekends, which includes a special Dharma talk in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 18.
